L'integrazione con quercetina può quindi contribuire a ridurre la formazione di radicali liberi e sostanze pro-infiammatorie
Numerosi gli studi che ne dimostrano la potenziale utilità nel trattamento e nella prevenzione di varie condizioni morbose e non, come ad esempio:
- nelle patologie legate all'invecchiamento come aterosclerosi, artrite, morbo di Alzheimer inibisce numerose fasi che portano alla liberazione di istaminae alla produzione di prostaglandine e leucotrieni ad azione pro-infiammatoria
- potente azione antiossidantediretta ed indiretta
- attività antiaggregante piastrinica ed antitrombotica con conseguente riduzione del rischio cardiovascolare
- Ha un ruolo fondamentale in casi di emorroidi, insufficienza venosae fragilità capillare
Pur essendo moltissime le ricerche in vitro o su modelli animali, non esistono studi clinici ad ampio raggio che confermino l'utilità della quercetina nella cura delle suddette malattie. Le attività di ricerca, comunque, sono particolarmente intense, viste le numerosi pubblicazioni, anche recenti, rintracciabili su pubmed.
La quercetina ha attività antitrombotica e antiaggregante piastrinica per cui va posta una certa attenzione nei pazienti in trattamento con aspirinetta, cardioaspirina o anticoagulanti orali
Le dosi di assunzione consigliate di quercetina si aggirano intorno ai 500 mg/die.
Fondamentale è assumere Quercetina titolata perché la titolazione di un prodotto indica la quantità effettiva di principio attivo contenuto, significando la bontà del prodotto per una efficacia ottimale.
