Elkopur Immune Lactoferrina is a food supplement based on Lactoferrin without the use of animal rennet, indicated to protect the body, has an immunomodulatory and antioxidant function, acts favorably on the body's physiological reaction capacity against viruses and bacteria. Each capsule contains 200 mg. of pure lactoferrin titrated to 95% of dry extract, this means an optimal efficacy of the product. Lactoferrin is a protein belonging to the group of glycoproteins, it has the task of transporting iron in the blood, with much higher capacities than that of transferrin, and has important antimicrobial properties. It is currently used for its antioxidant and immunomodulatory properties. In relation to its strong ability to transport iron, lactoferrin is able to subtract it from the metabolism of the pathogenic microorganisms present in the body, thus eliminating them from the blood of the host; based on this mechanism of action, the protein acts as an effective anti-microbial and anti-fungal. As regards the anti-viral activity, lactoferrin tends to bind with the glycosaminoglycans of the plasma membrane, blocking the entry of viruses and helping to prevent the onset of infectious processes.
